Sometimes inspiration strikes at odd times. I Sat down to read my book on this cozy fall day and then a scone-craving hit me like none before.
Now, sitting with a hot mug of cider and fresh sweet potato scones, I am ready to delve into my reading.
Sticky toffee pudding. My favorite dessert of all time! Can’t beat crème fraîche and toffee sauce on top of a pillowy cake. There are Medjool dates and Guinness stout inside, but it just tastes like heaven!
Apple pie with spiced brown sugar-pecan strusel. Oh, and did I mention the drizzle of heavy cream melding with the Cortlands inside?
Figs waiting for the oven. Chef mom is making double duck breast with figs from David Tanis’s book A Platter of Figs. I am making apple pie with brown sugar pecan crumble.
Sandwiches at home with the family. Prosciutto, triple cream cheese, Vidalia onion marmalade, jersey tomato, baby lettuces and mustard on muesli bread! Fantastic!
